About the event
On October 17th, the Town of Waynesville and Haywood Waterways Association will lead a moderate to strenuous 3.5-mile hike in the Waynesville Watershed. This protected 8,000 acre watershed provides drinking water for many Haywood County residents. The event is free for Haywood Waterways’ members and a $5 donation for nonmembers; memberships start at $25.
The group will meet at 10:30 am at the town’s water treatment plant (341 Rocky Branch Road). The hike will conclude around 2 pm. Hikers should be prepared to hike through mud. Bring lunch and water. Please leave pets at home.
Space is limited to 15 individuals. Members can sign up now. Non-members can sign up starting October 3rd. Reservations can be made by contacting Christine O’Brien at christine@haywoodwaterways.org or 828-476-4667 ext. 1.
