On October 28th the Town of Waynesville and Haywood Waterways Association will lead a moderate to strenuous 2.7-mile hike in the Waynesville Watershed with the option to tour the water treatment facility after the hike. This protected 8,000 acre watershed provides drinking water for many Haywood County residents.
The event is free for Haywood Waterways’ members
($5 donation for nonmembers)
The group will meet at 9:30 am at the town’s water treatment plant (341 Rocky Branch Road). The hike will conclude around 1:30 pm. Bring lunch and water. Please leave pets at home.
Space is limited to 15 individuals for each hike. Members will have priority and non-members will be placed on a wait list and contacted if we have space.
