Haywood Waterways Association

Haywood County holds something very precious and rare - water that comes directly from our own mountains and nowhere else. I'm proud to be a member and now President of the Haywood Waterways Association because it works to protect this treasure. My husband and I raised two sons and some of our most memorable family experiences took place around the Pigeon River and its tributaries. All of us who live in Haywood County are attached in some way to our waterways. The Haywood Waterways Association works in a positive way to keep our streams clean and clear by providing education and information opportunities, and partnering with other organizations on watershed restoration projects. We have a number of gifted and knowledgeable professionals in our organization, but most of us are like you and me, just regular people who care about our water. I'd like to take this opportunity to invite you, as a regular person, to become more involved in the Haywood Waterways Association by doing such activities as serving on a committee, helping with stream clean-up events, and making others more aware of our Haywood County treasure - our waterways.
